September 27 was a very busy day for the Eureka Marching Hornets. The morning started with a short practice working on marching basics and this year’s show music titled, “What If?”. The day continued with a tough competition at the Normal West Invitational. “It was a tough competition especially seeing that we were on a new field,” commented sophomore Abbie Phillips. The band placed fourth in their class, and the color guard won best auxiliary in their AA division. Immediately after performing, the Hornets hurried home for the conclusion of Homecoming week, the Saturday night Homecoming dance. The Marching Hornets will continue their season on October 3 at the Dunlap Invitational.
