Thursday, Sept. 24, the Eureka soccer players had their first and only home game. They had one chance to impress fans at the college, and they were determined to make the most of it. Although the team lost 2-1, their heart and effort were superb. E/R-B’s usual containment defense was replaced with an aggressive, active defense. Sophomore Joe Troyer specifically stood out as physically dominant, knocking players off the ball regularly. On offence, senior Bailey Bachman scored E/R-B’s only goal of the game and assisted several near goals. E/R-B may not have won the game, but they put on a great show.
